The Andaman and Nicobar Administration and others Ms. G.Mini ... for the petitioner Ms. Babita Das ... for the respondents June 21, 2024 [SR] Item Nos.11 Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that the petitioner, on the strength of a Will executed in her favour by the original owner, had applied for mutation before the respondent authorities. However, till date, such mutation application has been kept pending, thereby causing great inconvenience to the petitioner. Upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, it transpires that the purpose of justice would be sub-served if a direction is passed in terms of the prayer (ii) in the writ petition, directing the Tahsildar to decide the mutation application of the petitioner within a limited time-frame.

Accordingly, WPA/281/2024 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.2, the Tahsildar, Diglipur Tahsil, North Andaman to dispose of the petitioner's application for mutation, upon giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, positively within four weeks from date.

No order as to costs.
