Respondents Mr. Lokesh Chezian N. ...for the Petitioners Ms. Babita Das ...for the Respondents July 05, 2024 (M.A.Mobin) Item No.5 It is the case of the petitioners that they are agriculturist and a substantial portion of their land has been lost during Tsunami. The respondents granted compensation to the petitioners at the rate of Rs. 9.39 lakhs/hectors. It is the submission of the petitioners that the compensation granted to them is not adequate as well as is not in terms of the Vivek Rai committee set up by MHA in the year 2017.

The representation dated 20.01.2024 submitted by the petitioners before the competent authority is still pending and the petitioners have preferred the present writ petition.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that at this stage the petitioners will be satisfied if a direction is passed directing the respondent Nos.3 to 5 to take a decision on the petitioners' representation dated

20.01.2024, for enhanced compensation in a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that she has no objection in considering the petitioners' representation in a time bound manner.

In view of the same, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 20.01.2024 within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order after granting an opportunity of personal hearing. Since affidavit has not been called for, the allegations are not admitted.

With the above direction the present writ petition is disposed of.
