A Selva Munesh v. The Union Of India And Others
IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA
[ CIRCUIT BENCH AT PORT BLAIR ] *** WP.CT/25/2026 A. Selva Munesh Vs.
The Union of India and others Mr. Arul Prasanth ... for the petitioner Mr. Rakesh Kumar ... for the respondents April 27, 2026 [SR] Item No.6 1.
The innocuous prayer made in the writ petition is for early disposal of the Original Application bearing No.351/1318 of 2023 which is pending before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata Bench, Circuit at Port Blair. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the pleadings in the proceeding before the Tribunal are already complete; yet the matter is pending since the last three years. 2.
Although the Court was minded to pass a time-bound direction on the Tribunal, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a direction for expeditious disposal would suffice as the petitioner can mention the matter in the next Circuit, if it is not disposed of till then.
3.
In view of such submission of the petitioner and upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, WPCT/25/2026 is disposed of by directing the Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata Bench, Circuit at Port Blair, to dispose of Original Application No. 351/1318/2023 pending before it as
expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either party.
4.
There will be no order as to costs.
5.
Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
