The Vice Chancellor Ms. Yasmeen Begum ... for the petitioner Mr. Shatadru Chakraborty Mr. Dibesh Dwivedi ... for the respondent no.3 Mr. Terrence D'Cruz ... for the respondent nos.1&2 July 31, 2024 [SR] Item No.15 The petitioner says that he enrolled with the B.A, Political Science (Honors) course with the Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair, affiliated to the Pondicherry University in 2019. The duration of the course was three years (2019-2022). Two of the semesters being II and IV Semesters were hit by the Covid-19 Pandemic. No examination could be held. It was decided that the result would be on the basis of internal assessment for those two semesters.

The grievance of the petitioner is that although in respect of all other students who are similarly situate, the result has been declared, his result is yet to be declared. He is running from pillar to post to have his result declared, but in vain. Letters have been written by the Principal as well as Academic In-charge of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair to the Controller of Examination, Pondicherry University,

but the same have yielded no result. Unless his result is published, he cannot pursue higher studies.

From the affidavit of service filed in Court today, I find the respondents have been served. However, nobody appears for the respondents.

I find the petitioner to be in a real quandary. It is a sorry state of affairs. His result should have been declared in 2022 itself. For two years he does not have the benefit of knowing his result.

I direct the Controller of Examination, Pondicherry University, being respondent no.2 herein, to ensure that the petitioner's result is declared at the earliest and in any event, within four weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondent no.2. If the respondent no.2 is unable to do as aforesaid, he shall intimate to the petitioner in writing the reason for not being able to do so.

WPA/304/2024 is accordingly disposed of.
