Respondents Mr. Prakash Minj ...for the Petitioner Mr. Tulsi Lall ...for the Respondents July 04, 2024 (M.A.Mobin) Item No.2 It is the case of the petitioner that she along with her family is in occupation of a Government Revenue land bearing Survey No/Plot No.65/2, measuring an area of about 200 Sq. Meters situated at Subash Nagar Shadipur Village under Port Blair Tehsil, South Andaman District. The respondent no.1 issued a press note dated 07.4.2003, whereby they offered electricity connection to the residents who have been staying on the Government land. In pursuance of the said press note, the petitioner had applied for an electricity connection on 17.5.2024. However, till date no action has been taken on petitioner's application. Hence, being aggrieved by the said inaction on the part of the respondent no.1, the petitioner has preferred the present Writ Petition.
At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he shall be satisfied if a direction is passed directing the respondent no.1 to take a decision on petitioner's application dated 17.5.2024 in a time bound manner.
Learned counsel for the respondent no. 1 submits that he has no objection in considering the petitioner's application in a time bound manner.
In view of the same, the present Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent no. 1 to consider the petitioner's application dated 17.5.2024 for grant of an electricity connection within a period of 4 weeks. Needless to state that if the petitioner is aggrieved by the decision, he shall be at liberty to challenge the same in accordance with law.
