Kumar ...for the Respondents July 05, 2024 (M.A.Mobin) Item No.3 The respondents/administration granted license to the petitioner measuring an area of 200 Square meters plot having Survey No. 1104, Prothrapur Village, Port Blair Tehsil vide license deed dated 02.05.1983 for the purpose of constructing his house. The petitioner constructed his house on the said land and is in occupation of the same till date. He paid land revenue till 1990. Thereafter the respondents/administration stopped accepting the land revenue from the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner that he made several attempts to make payment for the land revenue to the respondents/administration but the same was not accepted without assigning any reason.

In this regard, the petitioner made several representations dated 26.10.2016, 12.01.2017 etc. Being aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent authorities the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition. At the outset itself, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will be satisfied at the stage if a direction is passed to the respondent authorities to decide his pending representation within a time bound manner. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that he has no objection in considering the petitioner's pending representation.

In view thereof, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the petitioner's pending representation by way of a speaking order after affording an opportunity of personal hearing within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

With the above direction the present writ petition is disposed of.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been called for, the contentions of the parties are not admitted. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta.
