Sabir ...for the Petitioner Mr. Shatadru Chakraborty Mr. Dibesh Dwivedi ...for the Respondents July 11, 2024 (M.A.Mobin) Item No.1 It is the case of the petitioner that the Andaman & Nicobar Rowing Team with Coach-cum-Manager participated in the 23rd Sub-Junior and 5th Inter-State Challenger National Rowing Championship held at Dal Lake, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir from 20th June to 26th June, 2022.
The petitioner had raised a claim of an amount of Rs. 5,00,275/- for reimbursement with all relevant supporting documents before the respondent No. 1. However, neither the respondent no. 1 made any payment nor informed the reasons for non-payment. In view thereof, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 13.08.2022 and 08.12.2022 and finally issued a legal notice dated
28.09.2023. Despite the receipt of all these notices, the respondent 1 failed to respond. Hence, being aggrieved by the inaction on the part of respondent no. 1, the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition.
At the outset itself, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he shall be satisfied at this stage if a direction is issued against respondent no. 1 to decide his pending representation within a time bound manner.
Learned counsel for the respondents states that the same shall be disposed of in accordance with law. This Court directs the respondent no. 1 to decide the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2022 within a period of four weeks after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner from the date of communication of this order by way of a speaking order.
With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.
