The Superintending of Engineer and others Mr. Tapan Kumar Das ... for the petitioner Mr. Tulsi Lal ... for the respondents July 30, 2024 [SR] Item No.07 The petitioner seeks a direction on the respondent authorities to provide electricity to the dwelling house of the petitioner.

Mr. Lal, learned advocate representing the respondents says that the petitioner has not filed all necessary documents with this writ petition and in particular personal identification document.

It is well settled that electricity supply cannot be denied to any person who is in occupation of a property whatever be his status in law.

Accordingly, I dispose of this writ petition by directing the respondents to provide electricity to the petitioner's dwelling house within a fortnight from the petitioner filing requisite documents with the authorities and complying with other formalities.
