Kumar ...for the Respondent July 24, 2023 [ M.A.Mobin] Item No.11 The present writ application has been filed, inter alia, praying for a direction upon the respondent to issue record entry and sketch map to the petitioner in respect of land bearing survey no.204/6 measuring 200 Sq. mtrs., situated at V.K. Pur, Little Andaman.

Ms. Nag, learned Advocate, by drawing attention of this Court to page no.25 of the writ application submits that the petitioner has been given a license to occupy land for house site. Such license had been issued by the Deputy Commissioner sometimes on or about 10th May, 1988. Since, then, the petitioner is in occupation of the aforesaid land. By referring to the provision of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation, 1966, it is submitted that the petitioner has a right to obtain the record of rights and the sketch map. Unfortunately, despite requests having been made by the petitioner the

respondent has not issued the relevant record of rights and the sketch map.

Mr. Kumar, Ld. Advocate representing the respondent submits that the respondent is in the process of issuing the aforesaid record of rights and the sketch map to the petitioner. According to Mr. Kumar the relevant record of rights would be made over to the petitioner within a reasonable time.

Having regard to the submission made by Mr. Kumar, I am of the view that the present writ application can be disposed of by directing the respondent to issue the aforesaid record of rights and the sketch map in respect of the plot in question, unto and in favour of the petitioner within a period of 12 weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The writ application is thus disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
