Mishra ... for the respondents July 01, 2026 [AKB] Item No.5 The petitioner seeks a direction on the respondent Electricity Authorities to provide electricity connection to the residential premises of the petitioner in terms of an application dated May 1, 2026 made therefor by the petitioner. The petitioner submits that the petitioner is a resident of Austinabad village and that she has a ration card and other documents which would evince such address. It is submitted that despite such documents being there, electricity connection has not been given to the petitioner.

Learned Advocate appearing for the respondent electricity authorities submits that the petitioner's application dated May 1, 2025 stood rejected by the Electricity authorities on May 19, 2026 since the petitioner was unable to submit the proof of occupancy in terms of JERC (Electricity Supply Code) Regulation, 2018. He hands up a copy of such order which is taken on record.

The Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has all the relevant documents to prove her occupancy of the relevant residential premises and that the petitioner would be able to produce the same before the Electricity Authorities.

Since the earlier application of the petitioner has already been rejected for want of relevant documents which could not be produced by the petitioner, therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application before the respondent electricity authorities seeking electricity connection at the residential premises of the petitioner along with all relevant documents in support of the petitioner's occupancy of the relevant premises. In case such application is made, the respondent electricity authorities will consider the same in accordance with law and take appropriate steps to effect electricity connection if the petitioner is found eligible therefor subject of compliance of all formalities and payment of all requisite charges by the petitioner, in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA/328/2026 stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

It is clarified that since affidavits have not been called for, all the allegations made against the respondents shall be deemed not to have been admitted.
