The grievance of the petitioner is that, the petitioner has occupied a Government revenue land bearing survey No. 70/1 measuring an area of about 100 sq. meter situated at Anna Nagar, Bambooflat under Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman District.

The petitioner has applied for grant of electric connection on 31.10.2022. The respondent authority has rejected the application on 26.11.2022 on the ground that "the departmental committee has stopped to provide electric connection on encroachment land."

Considering the order of rejection, this Court finds that the ground of rejection is not sustainable under law. Accordingly, the same is set aside.

The respondent is directed to provide electric connection in the premises of the petitioner standing on survey No. 70/1 measuring an area of about 100 sq. meter situated at Anna Nagar, Bambooflat under Port Blair Tehsil within four weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of the order on compliance of all requisite formalities.

WPA No. 563 of 2023 is disposed of.
