July 8, 2025 Sl. No.PBAD 1 Court No.36 s.biswas In the Calcutta High Court Circuit Bench at Port Blair Appellate Side CPAN 18 of 2023 in WPA 134 of 2022 Shri M. Chandran vs.

Miss Veditha Reddy Ms. G. Mini ... for the applicant Mr. Shatadru Chakraborty, Sr. Adv.

Mr. Dibesh Dwivedi ... for the alleged contemnor

1. It appears that the order of this court has been complied with. The Tehsildar has been directed to supply the necessary documents to the applicant.

2. The contempt application is directed against the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman District. The said authority is the sole contemnor. The said authority has complied with the decision of the court by directing the Tehsildar to do the needful. The apprehension that the Tehsildar might delay the matter, may be justified.

However, Mr.

Chakraborty, learned Senior Advocate assures this court that once the senior officer has directed the Tehsildar to act in terms of the order, the Tehsildar will do the needful within a short while.

3. Under such circumstances, the contempt application is disposed of. The contempt proceeding is dropped.

4. Needless to mention that the Tehsildar will follow the order of his superior.
