Respondents Mr. Alisham Venkatesh ...for the Petitioner Mr. Rakesh Kumar Ms. Preeja Menon ...for the Respondents September 30, 2022 [MAM] Item No.2 The petitioner seeks electricity connection at his premises bearing Survey No.83/P at Rajiv Nagar, Camp Bell Bay, Great Nicobar, A & N Islands.

It is not disputed by the parties before this Court that though the petitioner is an encroacher in respect of the land in question, he has a settled possession over the said land.

The petitioner, therefore, cannot be deprived of electricity connection at his premises.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of giving a direction upon the respondent no.2 to effect the electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order subject to compliance of all formalities by the petitioner. Needless to mention that grant of electricity connection shall not create any other right with regard to the land in question in favour of the petitioner.

WPA 531/2022 is accordingly disposed of.
