Mr. Ananda Halder ... for the petitioner Mr. V.D.Sivabalan ... for the respondent December 12, 2022 [SR] Item No.15 The petitioner is aggrieved by an order dated 26th September, 2022 passed by the Sub Divisional Officer, South Andaman. The said impugned order was passed pursuant to a direction of a Coordinate Bench dated 16th March, 2022 in WPA/38/2022.
The petitioner has applied for diversion/conversion of his land from agriculture to commercial. The said application was considered and kept pending till such time the Land Use Committee under Rule 3(ii) as per Andaman and Nicobar Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Amendment) Rules, 2017 gives its views. It is not known as to whether the Land Use Committee has considered and has given its views.
In such circumstances, the Land Use Committee referred to by the Sub Divisional Officer in terms of Rule 3 (ii) of the Rules, 2017 (supra) shall take a decision in the matter within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
There shall be no order as to costs.
All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
