The Andaman and Nicobar Administration and Others Mr. Lokesh Chezian .... for the petitioner Mr. S.C.Mishra ... for the respondents October 4, 2024 [SR] Item No.22 The grievance of the petitioner is directed against a rejection dated 30 January 2024 whereby the respondent authorities have rejected the prayer for an electricity connection on the ground that the wiring and earthing has not being completed and the petitioner is not in settled possession. During the hearing of the writ petition, it is submitted by the petitioner that the wiring and the earthing work have been completed and the respondent authorities be directed to consider the prayer for electricity connection afresh. The respondents submit that the matter needs consideration afresh.

In view of the subsequent facts which have been transpired after the filing of the writ petition, WPA/473/2024 stands dismissed as withdrawn.

Liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a fresh application for electricity connection which the respondent authorities are directed to consider in accordance with law.

It is made clear that there has been no expression on merits of the case and no observation nor finding in this order shall bind the respondent authorities in disposing of the prayer of the writ petition afresh.
