It is found from the record that the matter was listed yesterday but on the prayer of Mr. Rakesh Kumar, the matter was adjourned till today.

Arul Prasanth, learned Counsel submits that the petitioner has occupied a

Government revenue land and had constructed a house wherein the petitioner along with the family members are residing. The petitioner had applied for electric connection and as per the order passed by this Court, the petitioner is provided with the electric connection.

In the year 2019, the petitioner has applied for grant of water tap connection in the said premises but the Municipal Authority have not paid any heed to the request made by the petitioner. Again on 22.02.2023 the petitioner has made a request for grant of water tap connection and the said representation is still pending.

Considering the submission made by the Counsel for the petitioner and considering the materials on record, this Court finds that no purpose will be served by keeping the instant petition pending. Accordingly, WPA No 658 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the Secretary, Municipal Council, Port Blair to consider the application filed by the petitioner for grant of

water tap connection and to provide water tap connection to the petitioner after compliance of all formalities within four weeks after receipt of the copy of this order.

WPA No. 658 of 2023 is disposed of.
