The grievance of the petitioner is that, the petitioner has occupied a Government revenue land bearing survey No. 09 measuring an area of 200 sq. meters situated at Lall Bijan, Wimberligunj under Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman District.

The petitioner has applied for grant of electric connection on 03.04.2023. The respondent authority has rejected the application on 08.04.2023 on the ground that "the departmental technical committee has stopped to provide electric connection on encroachment land."

Considering the order of rejection, this Court finds that the ground of rejection is not sustainable under law. Accordingly, the same is set aside.

The respondent No.3, Assistant Engineer, Sub Division, Electricity Department, Ferrargunj, South Andaman District is directed to provide electric connection in the premises of the petitioner standing on survey No. 09 measuring an area of 200 sq. meters situated at Lall Bijan, Wimberligunj under Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman District within four weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of the order on compliance of all requisite formalities.

WPA No. 660 of 2023 is disposed of.
