Alleged contemnor is represented despite the contempt petition not being served.

By our judgment and order dated May 21, 2024, we struck down three notifications relating to the stamp duty

charged in respect of the deeds presented for registration. We permitted the registration in accordance with the prevailing law as on the date immediately preceding the date of enforcement of the three notifications which we struck down.

Learned advocate appearing for the alleged contemnor submits that Special leave Petition was not preferred against the judgment and order dated May 21, 2024. Registration in the islands is stopped due to administrative reasons. He submits that the petitioner did not present any deed for registration.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner draws the attention of the Court to page 29 of the contempt petition which is a pre-registration docket which is dated May 17, 2024 and appointment date was May 24, 2024.

Parties before us are governed by our judgment and order dated May 21, 2024.

Petitioner before us presented a deed for registration in respect of which, date for appointment was given on May 24, 2024. Such deed is yet to be registered. Learned advocate appearing for the alleged contemnor, on instructions, submits that the registration

authorities will register the document of the petitioner within 24 hours from now.

In view of such submission, CPAN 46 of 2024 is disposed of.

Since we did not invite any affidavits, allegations made in the application are deemed to be denied. (Debangsu Basak, J.) (Bibhas Ranjan De, J.)
