None appears on behalf of the respondent.

The petitioner is running his establishment under the name and style of Andaman Handicrafts Emporium inside the security restricted area at Veer Savarkar Airport at Port Blair. The petitioner was granted provisional security clearance to operate the said retail outlet in the Veer Savarkar Airport on 18.01.2019 and the same was extended from time to time. Now the petitioner has again applied for security clearance on 17.04.2023 before the competent authority but till date the same has not been granted but in the meantime the Assistant Manager (Operation) Airport Authority of India had issued a letter through mail wherein it was informed to the petitioner to obtain necessary security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation and Security (BCAS) within a stipulated time and they will not allow the staff of the petitioner from 01.05.

2023 onwards as instructed by BCAS. Counsel for the petitioner submits that BCAS has not consider the application filed by the petitioner on 17.04.2023 and if the petitioner is not allowed to run the outlet at the Veer Savarkar Airport, the petitioner will suffer severe financial loss. Considering the submission made by counsel for the petitioner this Court is of the view that no purpose will be served by keeping this writ petition pending, the writ petition being No. WPA/713/2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent No. 5 and 6 to consider the application submitted by the petitioner dated 17.04.2023 for issuance of security clearance within a week from the dated of receipt of the copy of this order.
