The petitioner is aggrieved that the conciliation proceedings are pending inordinately before the Assistant Labour Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman in respect of the illegal retrenchment of Daily Rated Mazdoors including himself. The matter has been taken up on behalf of the petitioner by the General Secretary, Dweep Labour Union, Diglipur.

This Court is shocked to note that the conciliation proceeding is pending for more than six years. 3.

It is, therefore, directed that the said conciliation proceeding must be disposed of mandatorily and positively within three months from the date of communication of this order. In the event of failure of conciliation, let a report be submitted to the appropriate government for necessary action at their end.

With the above observation, the writ petition is allowed and disposed of without any order as to costs.
