The petitioner has purchased stamp duty and has presented a document for purchase of property to the Sub Registrar, Mayabunder on 26.10.2023.

The Sub-Registrar, Mayabunder has not taken any steps ever after lapse of more than one year. The petitioner is unable to deal with the land for the said purpose and is therefore seriously aggrieved.

In view of the above, let the Sub-Registrar, Mayabunder take a decision in the matter mandatorily and positively within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt copy of this order as to whether he is going to register the sale of the property and if so complete the registration within such period. 4.

In the event, the Sub-Registrar, Mayabunder is not inclined to so register the document, he may pass a reasoned order after giving a personal hearing to the petitioner and/or his legal representative and communicate the order to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

With the above direction, the writ petition is allowed and disposed of without any order as to costs.
