One G.S.Grewal, the second respondent, performed the work under a contract for the Gram Panchayat, Laxmi Nagar, Campbell Bay. A sum of Rs.15,32,346/- was released by the Pradhan in favour of the second respondent namely G.S.Grewal.

The said amount was mistakenly credited to the Punjab National Bank, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi in the account bearing same name as the second respondent.

Repeated requests to the Punjab National Bank, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi have not yielded any results. 4.

It appears that the said G.S.Grewal (since deceased) and his wife is holding a joint account in said the Punjab National Bank and his wife is not giving no objection for repatriation of the sum.

The Court directs the Manager, Punjab National Bank, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi to transmit the amount of Rs.15,32,346/- wrongly credited into the account of late G.S.Grewal and Sumittar Kaur bearing account

No.0605000300374569 to the account of the Gram Panchayat, Laxmi Nagar, Campbell Bay having account No.99012200050720 at Canara Bank, Campbell Bay within a period of one week from the date of receipt of this order. 6.

It is made clear that in default of such refund and transfer of the amount of Rs.15,32.346/- shall carry interest @ 12% per annum on and from date, payable by the Punjab National Bank.

With the above observation, the writ petition is allowed and disposed of without any order as to costs. 8.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities. ( Rajasekhar Mantha, J. )
