Mishra ... for the respondents November 20, 2025 [AKB] Item No.14 This writ petition has been filed to challenge the alleged inaction of the respondent authority of Electricity Department in giving a domestic connection to the writ petitioner at the premises where he resides.

An application for domestic connection of meter has been filed by the writ petitioner before the respondent authority on 31.12.2024, the same is still pending before the respondent authority.

Mr. S.C.Mishra, learned advocate by representing the respondent authority has relied on an inspection report of the Junior Engineer dated 04.11.2025, which speaks about greater load to be consumed by the inhabitant of the concerned premises, beyond the capacity of a domestic meter. Mr. S.C.Mishra has submitted that for this reason domestic connection as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be activated in the concerned premises.

Let this writ petition be disposed of with the direction upon the respondent No.2/the Assistant Engineer, Electricity Department, Chouldari, to decide upon the application of the

present writ petitioner dated 31.12.2024 and pass a reasoned order thereupon.

The said order shall be communicated to the writ petitioner within one week from its date. The entire exercise as above should be concluded within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order. With the direction as above this writ petition is disposed of.

Since the respondents has not used any affidavit-inopposition, all the allegation made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents. The report dated 04.11.2025 relied on by the learned advocate for the respondent is kept with the record.
