IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA

[ CIRCUIT BENCH AT PORT BLAIR ] *** WP.CT/55/2025 The Lieutenant Governor and Others Vs.

Dr. Ramkanta Halder and Another Mr. Rakesh Kumar ... for the petitioners Mr. P.C.Das ... for the respondents [through virtual mode] December 12, 2025 [SR] Item No.05 Mr. Rakesh Kumar, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that pursuant to the liberty granted by this Court by an order dated July 18, 2022 in WPCT/9/2022, the disciplinary authority has completed the entire proceedings excepting passing the final order.

Mr. Kumar submits that the petitioners approached the learned Tribunal praying for leave to pass the final order. He further submits that till date no order has been passed by the learned Tribunal.

Learned advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the learned Tribunal cannot be faulted for not passing any order as the petitioner did not appear before the Tribunal on the last occasion.

However, without going into such controversy, this Court feels that a direction upon the learned Tribunal to dispose of the Original Application being OA/1294/2021 (Port Blair) expeditiously would sub-serve the interest of justice.

In view thereof, WPCT/55/2025 stands disposed of by giving liberty to the respective parties to approach the learned Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata, Circuit Bench at Port Blair for fixing an early date of hearing of the Original Application and if such approach is made, the learned Tribunal shall fix a short date of hearing and dispose of the Original Application within the next available Circuit. There shall however be no order as to costs.

Parties to act on the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
