The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District Mr. K. Sabir .... for the petitioner Ms. Babita Das ... for the respondent December 11, 2025 [SR] Item No. 9 The petitioner claims to have completed the work allotted to the petitioner pursuant to the work orders and the petitioner had deposited the Earnest Money Deposit as per the terms and conditions agreed upon. The petitioner alleges that even after successful completion of the work by the petitioner, the respondent authority has not released the Earnest Money Deposit.
The petitioner submitted a representation dated June 16, 2025 before the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Car Nicobar, respondent herein.
The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that no decision on such representation has been communicated to the petitioner. Learned advocate for the respondent submits that the respondent authority shall communicate its decision within the time limit that may be fixed by this Court.
In the light of the submissions made by the learned advocates for the respective parties, WPA/585/2025 stands
disposed of by directing the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Car Nicobar to consider the representation dated June 16, 2025 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and communicate the reasoned order to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of the order along with the copy of the representation dated June 16, 2025. With the above observations and directions, WPA/585/2025 stands disposed of. There shall however be no order as to costs.
