Golder .... for the petitioner Mr. S.C.Mishra ... for the opposite party December 15, 2025 [SR] Item No. 14 The petitioner claims to be in occupation of the government vacant revenue land bearing survey No.131/P situated at Netaji Colony, Dhanikhari Village, Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman and residing there along with his family members upon construction of house thereupon. The petitioner applied for supply for electricity at the aforesaid premises. The grievances of the petitioner is that till date the electricity has not been supplied to the dwelling house of the petitioner.

Learned advocate appearing for the respondent authorities submits that pursuant to the application submitted by the petitioner for supply of electricity, an inspection was carried out on 10th December, 2025 and it was found that the temporary tin shed is not suitable for electricity connection as per safety and electricity supply regulation, 2010 and internal wiring work has also not been completed as per required safety standard.

Faced with such situation, the learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the writ petitioner shall comply with the requisite formalities as provided in the Regulation and upon

completion of such formalities, the respondent authorities be directed to supply electricity to the petitioner. WPA/599/2025 stands disposed of with the following directions:

(1) The petitioner shall complete the internal wiring work and make the temporary tin shed structure suitable for supply of electricity as per the relevant regulations and the petitioner shall thereafter intimate the electricity authorities about such compliance.

(2) Within two weeks from the date of receipt of such communication from the petitioner, the electricity authorities shall conduct a fresh inspection of the premises in question and if the structure where the petitioner is claiming supply of electricity conforms to the provisions laid down in the regulations and internal wiring has been completed and other necessary formalities have also been complied with, the respondent authorities shall supply electricity within a period of four weeks from the date of such inspection.

(3) However, if, upon such inspection, deficiency/deficiencies is/are detected, the same shall also be communicated to the petitioner within a period of one week from the date of such inspection. Parties to act on the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
