Petitioner's application seeking new electricity connection allegedly filed online on 26th October, 2024 is pending disposal at the end of the Electricity Department.

Prayer has been made to direct the department to provide new electric connection.

Learned advocate representing the department submits that online application of the petitioner cannot be accepted. The petitioner is required to file application offline. 4.

The submission of the department for not proceeding with the application submitted online cannot be accepted. Copy of the application filed by the petitioner is annexed to the writ petition.

The department is directed to consider the said application being online application no.25377 dated 26.10.2024 annexed at pages 10 and 11 of the writ petition in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If the application made by the petitioner appears to be proper then, consequential steps for giving electricity connection shall be taken forthwith. If there are deficiencies in the application, the same shall be intimated to the petitioner so that steps can be taken to rectify the same.

The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of usual formalities. ( Amrita Sinha, J. )
