The Superintending Engineer and Others Mr. Pardeshia Munda .... for the petitioner Mr. S.C.Mishra ... for the respondents December 18, 2025 [SR] Item No. 18 The petitioner claims to be residing in a piece of government revenue land bearing survey No.205/P measuring an area of about 200 sq.mtrs situated at Ward No.20, Netaji Nagar, Austinabad Village under Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, South Andaman District upon constructing a dwelling house thereupon.

The petitioner submitted an application for supply of electricity on November 26, 2024. The grievance of the petitioner is that no steps have been by the respondent authority to effect supply of electricity in the aforesaid dwelling house of the petitioner.

Heard the learned advocate for the respondent authority. Since the application has been submitted by the petitioner praying for supply of electricity, it is the duty of the respondent authority to take a decision on such application and communicate such decision to the petitioner.

In the light of the submissions made by the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties, WPA/616/2025

stands disposed of by directing the Assistant Engineer - III (H.Q),Electricity Department, Prothrapur Site Office, A & N Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram, being the third respondent, to consider the application of the petitioner praying for supply of electricity and to pass a reasoned order on such application. In the event the petitioner is entitled to electricity, necessary steps for effecting supply of electricity shall be taken by the respondent authority. In the event, the respondent authority is of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to supply of any electricity, a reason thereof shall be communicated to the petitioner.

The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order. Parties to act on the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
