The application filed by the petitioner seeking new electricity connection was rejected because certain defects were detected at the time of inspection.

The petitioner is yet to be made aware of the defects that she is required to rectify.

Learned advocate representing the department has placed before this Court a communication made by the Assistant Engineer -II (HQ) addressed to the Executive Engineer (HQ) dated 12.12.2024 mentioning the reason for not granting electrical connection to the petitioner.

It appears that the application stood rejected with the remarks - for submission of either ration card or electoral identity card mandatorily having the same address as proof of occupancy of the premises.

Let a copy of the same be served upon the learned advocate representing the petitioner for rectification of the defects and for compliance of the necessary formalities.

The department shall provide electric connection to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from date of removal of all defects.
7.
Instruction of the department be retained with the records.
8.
The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
9.
Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of usual formalities. ( Amrita Sinha, J. )
