The Superintending Engineer and others Mr. Pardeshia Munda .... for the petitioner Mr. S.C.Mishra ... for the respondents December 19, 2025 [SR] Item No. 11 The petitioner claims to be in occupation of a piece of government revenue land being Survey No.359/P measuring an area of 200 sq.mtrs situated at Caddlegunj Village under Ferrargunj Tehsil and is residing therein by constructing a dwelling house thereupon. The petitioner applied for availing new service connection for supply of energy on 29th June, 2025. The grievance of the petitioner is that till date, no decision has been taken by the respondent authority and supply of electricity has not yet been provided at the said dwelling house of the petitioner.

Heard the learned advocate for the respondents on such submissions.

The petitioner claims to be in settled possession and residing in the dwelling house. The petitioner has applied for supply of electricity. It is the duty of the licensing authority to take a decision on such prayer.

In the light of the submissions of the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties, WPA/621/2025 stands

disposed of by directing the Assistant Engineer, Ferrargunj Sub Division, Electricity Department, A & N Administration, being the respondent no.2, to consider the application of the petitioner for supply of electricity dated 29th June, 2024 and to effect supply of electricity to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order if the petitioner is otherwise entitled to such supply. In the event, the third respondent is of the view that the electricity cannot be supplied to the petitioner, reasons thereof are to be communicated to the petitioner within the time limit as mentioned herein before.

There shall however be no order as to costs.
