The petitioner alleges contempt of the order dated 20.11.2023.

I have heard and considered the submissions made on behalf of both the parties.

It appears that the contractual appointment which was under challenge in the writ petition has not been extended. The Administration has taken steps for getting the work done by engaging Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).

The petitioner is aggrieved by the same and submits that as the petitioner performed duty during the Covid period, accordingly, the petitioner ought to be given preference in terms of the advertisement published by the Administration on 09.02.2021.

The Court is of the considered opinion that the grievance of the petitioner can be redressed only by way of filing fresh writ petition. No relief can be granted to the petitioner in the contempt jurisdiction.

The application for contempt stands disposed of. 7.

It will be open for the petitioner to approach the competent court for relief.
