Port Blair Municipal Council and others Mr. S.K.Goldar ... for the petitioner Mr. Rakesh Kumar ... for the respondents September 21, 2023 [SR] Item No.6 The instant writ petition is filed alleging inaction on the part of the authority in providing of water tap connection inside the premises owned and possessed by the petitioner. Initially a plea was taken that there is no separate water lines installed at the area where the house is situated. But on being apprised that the neighbour house has water connection, the matter was adjourned to take necessary instruction in this regard.

Today when the matter is listed, the counsel for the respondents fairly and concededly submits that the water pipe line has already been laid in the area and the water tap connection can be extended to the petitioner's house within a short time.

In view of such stand having taken before me, the and believing that the authority would take all steps in this regard, there is no purpose of keeping the writ petition pending. The authority is directed to expedite the process of providing a

water tap line inside the house of the petitioner within fortnight from date of the communication of this order. The writ is thus disposed of. No order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties subject to compliance with requisite formalities.
