1. By filing the present writ petition, the Petitioner prays for a directive to the concerned Respondent to consider the Petitioner's application for the provision of a new electricity connection at his residence.

2. Mr. Alisham Venkatesh, learned Advocate representing the Petitioner, submits that despite the Respondent receiving the Petitioner's application for the provision of an electricity connection at his residence, the application was left unattended, which prompted the Petitioner to file the present writ petition.

3. Mr. Mishra has entered his appearance on behalf of the respondents.

4. Having heard the learned Advocates for the respective parties and upon reviewing the materials on record, I am of the view that no useful purpose will be served by keeping this writ petition pending.

5. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of, directing Respondent No. 2 to make a decision on the Petitioner's application in accordance with the law within a fortnight from the date of communication of this order. If any decision is taken that is prejudicial to the interests of the Petitioner, a reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the Petitioner within a fortnight from the date of such decision.

6. With this observation this Writ Petition is disposed of.

7. However, there shall be no order as to the costs. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.)
