The Andaman and Nicobar Administration and another Mr. Arul Prasanth ... for the petitioner Mr. V.D.Sivabalan ... for the respondents August 24, 2023 [SR] Item No.7 The application filed by the petitioner under Section 198 of the Andaman and Nicobar Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation, 1966 is pending consideration at the end of the Deputy Commissioner from April, 2023. Without going into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioner in accordance with the prevailing Regulations at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

An opportunity of hearing shall be given to the petitioner prior to passing a final order in the matter. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate representing the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the application dated 18th April, 2023

along with a copy of the record of rights and the map to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
