1. Service on behalf of the respondent/opposite party is accepted by Mr. C. Mano, learned advocate junior to Mr. Jayapal.

2. I have heard Ms. Anjili Nag, and Mr.Jayapal.

3. The petitioner has prayed for disposal of the partition suit as expeditiously as possible. The partition suit was filed in the year 2016.

4. I have been informed by Ms.Nag that the trial has commenced and the evidence of the plaintiffs would commence from 10th January, 2024.

5. In view of the fact that the suit is pending for nearly about seven years, I dispose of this application by requesting the learned Civil Judge Senior Division, Port Blair to dispose of the suit as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from the date commencement of the evidence of PW-1 without giving any adjournment to either of the parties unless it is unavoidable.

6. The learned Trial court is further requested to make a schedule for recording evidence in consultation with the learned counsel for the parties so that the trial can proceed smoothly.

7. Affidavit of service be taken on record.

8. The application is accordingly disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of usual formalities. ( Soumen Sen, J. )
