In view of the fact that the application for electricity connection has been made before the respondent no.2 and that the petitioner is in settled possession of the immovable landed property and in view of the Special Bench judgment in Abhimanyu Mazumder vs.

Superintending Engineer reported in Laws(CAL) 2011 2 36, the petitioner is entitled to electricity connection in the property in question. 2.

Accordingly, I direct the respondent no.2 to ensure that the electricity connection is provided to the house of the writ petitioner within two weeks from date and on compliance of all requisite formalities 3.

The writ petition is disposed of on the above terms; however, there shall be no order as to costs. 3.

Urgent certified photostat copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of usual formalities.
