The Petitioner is a retired school teacher. The Petitioner has filed this Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to the Respondents to amend the syllabus and change the education pattern in view of contentions raised by the Petitioner. The Petitioner also seeks a declaration that the syllabus framed by the Respondents in the schools and college are without basic principles and without knowledge. The Petitioner in addition seeks a direction to the Respondents to frame appropriate syllabus in schools and college. In view of submissions made in the Petition, the Petitioner k Page No.

We have heard learned counsel for the Petitioner. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submitted that the syllabus of the schools should be based on knowledge and subject matter of our knowledge should be included in the syllabus.

On the other hand, learned GP, on instructions, submits that the process of preparation of the draft syllabus for classes 3 to 10 standard from academic session 2026 onwards is under way and the draft shall be notified approximately within a period of 15 days and objections and suggestions of the public in general shall be invited and after considering the draft suggestions/objections from public in general syllabus shall be finalised for academic session 2026 onwards.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, we grant the liberty to the Petitioner to submit his objections and suggestions to the draft syllabus which may be published by the Respondents. Needless to say that the Respondents shall consider the objections and suggestions of the Petitioner as well as public in general while finalising syllabus of the school from classes 3 to 10 standard.
