1. Registry to waive objections and register the matters.
2. This Petition arises from an order dated 10.02.2020 passed by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), though this order was challenged before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in an Appeal, and due to the Covid pandemic, the same was pending 27th November, 2025
WP 459 of 2025 hearing, during which period the GCZMA attempted to demolish the structures., this Petition was filed to seek a stay of the coercive action sought by the GCZMA.
3. In the meantime, the NGT, by order of 04.03.2021, allowed the Appeals and remanded the five cases, which are the subject matter of this Petition, back to the GCZMA; the five matters are pending disposal before the GCZMA.
4. A statement was made to this Court on behalf of GCZMA on 10.12.2021 that pending the disposal of these five matters, the GCZMA would not take any coercive action to demolish the structures, now that the Appeals are required to be decided by the GCZMA on their own merit, the present Petition can be disposed of by keeping the undertaking and statement made on 10.12.2021 to this Court in operation until the disposal of the matters before the GCZMA.
The GCZMA shall endeavour to dispose of the five matters by 31.03.2026.
4. The Writ Petition No.459 of 2025 along with the Miscellaneous Civil Application No.332 of 2025, stand disposed of. VALMIKI MENEZES, J.
