By this petition, the challenge is to the order of the Appellate Court dated 30th December, 2019 upholding the order of the Trial Court granting interim maintenance of Rs.4,000/- each, to the Applicant and her daughter as well as the other reliefs as regards the rent and the compensation.

At the outset, learned counsel appearing for the Respondent No.1 submits that as of today a sum of Rs.19,84,600/- is the arrears of maintenance. This figure is sought to be disputed by the learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner, however, she is unable to take instructions in that behalf from the Petitioner.

Considering that there are admittedly arrears of maintenance though the quantum may be disputed, the Petitioner is directed to make the payment of Rs.1,00,000/- to the Respondent-wife on or before the next date.

Stand over to 12th June, 2024.
