Heard Mr. Preetam Lotlikar, the learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Devidas J. Pangam, the learned Advocate General with Ms. Ankita Kamat, the learned Additional Government Advocate for the respondents No.1 to 7 and Mr. Arjun F. Naik, the learned Counsel for the respondent No.8.

At the request of Mr. Lotlikar, we grant Rule to amend this petition, inter alia, for the purpose of challenging the elections held on 20.10.2020. Mr. Lotlikar points out that there is no remedy

by way of election petition in order to challenge this election. The learned Advocate General also confirms this position. 3.

The amendment to be carried out within two weeks from today and copies of the amended petition to be served upon the respondents.

Further, we grant Rule in this petition and expedite the hearing of this petition. The parties to complete their pleadings within 3 months from the date of service of the amended copies of the petition.

In our earlier orders, we had already made it clear that the result of the elections will be subject to further orders in this petition. 6.
