Being aggrieved by the order dated 17th August 2023, the petitioner who claims herself belonging to Koli Mahadeo (Scheduled Tribe) has approached this Court.

The petitioner has pleaded that in terms of section 8 of the Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000, she made an application for issuing a caste certificate in her favour. However, vide order no. Certificates/WS/69/2023, the application moved by her was rejected on 13th March 2023. Against that order, the petitioner preferred the statutory appeal on 28th April 2023 and was given an opportunity of hearing before the Committee on 14th June 2023. R.V.Patil

2/2 923 WP.142.2024.odt The statutory appeal filed by the petitioner has been dismissed by an order dated 18th August 2023.

On instructions from Sub-Divisional Officer, Ichalkaranjirespondent no. 3, Mr. V. M. Mali, the learned AGP has made a statement that appropriate decision shall be taken by the respondent-authority provided the petitioner produces the original caste certificate issued in favour of her uncle. Responding to this suggestion of the State-respondents, Mr Chintamani K. Bhangoji, the learned counsel for the petitioner makes a statement on instructions from the petitioner that the petitioner shall appear before the respondent no.3 on 11th August 2025 and produce the original caste certificate issued in favour of her uncle.

In view thereof, Writ Petition No. 142 of 2024 is disposed of. 5.
