Heard the learned Advocates for the Petitioner and the Union of India.

This Petition cannot be entertained for two reasons. Firstly, recently, AIR India Ltd. has been privatized and the Hon'ble Supreme Court has declared in R.S.Madireddy & Anr. vs. Union of India & Ors1 that a Writ Petition would not be maintainable. The second reason is that the Petitioner's Application bearing CGIT No. (2024) 5 SCC 306

Trupti 912-wp-2508-2025.odt 12 of 2012, is pending before the Central Government Industrial Tribunal (CGIT) at Mumbai. Though the pleadings are complete in the proceeding, the matter could not proceed since there was no Presiding Officer in the interregnum.

Now, Retired Justice Anil Kumar, Presiding Officer of the CGIT, Lucknow has been given the additional charge of CGIT No.1, Mumbai on 1st January, 2025.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off. 5.

We direct that the Petitioner's Application bearing CGIT No. 12 of 2012, be placed before CGIT No. 1, Mumbai and considering its pendency for 13 years, we direct the CGIT No.1, Mumbai to conclude the said case on its own merits, on or before 31st December, 2025.
