The petitioner claims that this petition has been filed in larger public interest. The petitioner seeks to challenge allotment of a piece of land to the Talathi of village Panchpakhadi within Taluka and District Thane. The allotment was made by virtue of the letters dated 7th August 2012, 23rd October 2012 and 31st October 2012. The petitioner is also seeking a direction against the mutation entries made on 1st November 2012 in respect of the subject land. 2.

No one appears for the petitioner.

It appears that this Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was lodged on 3rd February 2023 but not prosecuted till date. Having examined the materials on record, we find that this Public Interest Litigation (PIL) cannot be entertained as a PIL. The aggrieved person shall have adequate civil remedies under the statutory regime relating to mutation matters. Moreover, no element of public interest is involved in this matter.
