The petitioner has approached this Court for seeking challenge to the impugned order dated 11.10.2023 issued by the respondent no.2Tahsildar, Taluka Chamorshi, District Gadchiroli thereby cancelling the selection of the petitioner on the post of 'Kotwal'. The petitioner has also sought relief of cancellation of the appointment of the respondent no.3 on the post of 'Kotwal'.

The respondent no.2 Tahsildar on 31.07.2023 issued advertisement thereby calling applications for appointment on the post of 'Kotwal' for Saza No.27-Waigaon. The said post was reserved for OBC (Woman) category. Pursuant to the said advertisement the petitioner had submitted her application for the post of 'Kotwal', which is at record page No.25 -Annexure-II.

Perusal of the application shows that in the Column No. 12 which is pertaining to marital status, the petitioner has mentioned that she is unmarried. So also, in the Column No.5 pertaining to her permanent residence, she has mentioned as R/o. Chandeshwar. 6.

On the basis of the advertisement, the recruitment process was conducted and the selection list was published on 20.08.2023 wherein the petitioner was shown as selected candidate at Sr. No.1. During the verification of her documents, it was noticed that she filled up false information regarding her place of residence as well as her marital status. When the enquiry was conducted by the respondent no.2Tahsildar the petitioner had admitted the fact that she was married to one Yogesh Haridas Deshmukh R/o. Porla, Tq. and District Gadchiroli on 23.03.2022.

Thus, the petitioner, has submitted false information in the application form and same is duly admitted by her. Thus, the petitioner has violated Condition No.5.9 of the advertisement, which clearly specifies that the submission of false information would result in cancellation of the selection of the candidate. Accordingly, the respondent no. 2-Tahsildar had cancelled the selection of the petitioner on the post of 'Kotwal' vide impugned order dated 11.10.2023. 8.

The learned counsel for the petitioner could not point out any perversity or erroneous finding at the behest of the respondent no.2 in the impugned order dated 11.10.2023. Accordingly, there is no merit in the present writ petition. Hence the writ petition is dismissed. 9.
