This is a writ petition for quashing of the proceedings arising out of the C.R.No.1085 of 2022 registered at Andheri police station, on 16.11.2022, under sections 498-A, 504 and 506 r/w. 34 of the I.P.C.

The F.I.R. is lodged by the Respondent No.2. The Petitioner No.1 is her husband, the Petitioner No.2 is her motherin-law and other two petitioners are her sisters-in-law. The F.I.R. mentions that, she got married with the Petitioner No.1 on Digitally signed by VINOD BHASKAR GOKHALE Date:

05.12.2021. The entire expenses were borne by the informant's father. Initially, she was treated well at her matrimonial house, but since January 2022 the Petitioners started illtreating her on petty issues. They were also expressing their displeasure for not giving sufficient ornaments. She was made to do all the household work. She was not given proper food. She was being illtreated for getting amount for purchasing a flat. On these allegations the F.I.R. was lodged.

The matter is now settled between the parties. The informant has filed her Affidavit. She has stated that the proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act are already withdrawn. The divorce proceedings are still pending, but both of them have decided to obtain divorce by mutual consent. She has no objection for quashing of the present proceedings. The informant is present in the Court. She is identified by her learned counsel. She has stated before the Court that the matter is settled to her satisfaction and she has no objection for quashing of the proceedings. The dispute between the parties is purely personal in nature. It is settled to the
satisfaction of the informant. Therefore, it would be in the interest of justice that the petition is allowed. No purpose would be served if the prosecution is continued. The society at large is not involved. Therefore, we are inclined to quash the proceedings. 4.
Hence, the following order:
O R D E R
i) The proceedings arising out of the C.R.No.1085 of 2022 registered at Andheri police station, on 16.11.2022, under sections 498-A, 504 and 506 r/w. 34 of the I.P.C., is quashed and set aside. ii) The Writ Petition is disposed of.
