The Petitioner has relied upon an order dated 03.06.2022 passed by the Hon'ble Apex Court, while dismissing the Interlocutory Applications seeking extension of time to surrender, upon the prisoners being released in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

The order categorically stated that 15 days time is granted to surrender before the prison authorities and it is the grievance of the Petitioner that despite this direction, for late surrender by 12 days, the punishment is imposed upon him and which has even received approval from the higher authority.

Let the learned APP, Mr. Yagnik obtain necessary instructions. List on 21.06.2024.
