The petitioners are challenging the F.I.R. dated 23.3.2023 registered with Powar Police Station vide C.R. No.171 of 2023 for the ofence under Section 498-A read with 34 of the IPC at the instance of respondent No.2.

Petitioner No.1 is the mother-in-law and petitioner Nos.2 and 3 are the brother-in-laws of respondent No.2. Petitioner No. 4 is the wife of petitioner No.2.

The FIR has been registered only against the petitioners and not against the husband. The marriage was solemnized in the year 2004. The complainant has also initiated the Dinesh S. Sherla 1/2

504-wp-599-24.doc proceedings under the Domestic Violence Act. The interim relief was rejected in the said proceedings and thereafter she filed the FIR.

Issue notice to respondent No.2, returnable on 19.06.2024.
