Mr. Milind N. i/by Ashwinkumar Tripathi for Respondent Nos.1 to 3 ----------------- CORAM : ARIF S. DOCTOR, J.
rd JULY, 2024 DATE : 23 P.C.:- 1.
This is a Petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. I am informed that this is the first extension and examination in chief has commenced.
2.
Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the Respondents submits that he has a formal objection to the Petition for extension, but does not wish to file any reply. He also does not elaborate as to what is his formal objection is. 3.
Given the fact that there is no real objection and that the arbitration proceedings have substantially progressed, I deem it fit and in the interest of Shubham 1/2
2 11-CARBP-145-2024.doc justice to allow the present Petition in terms of prayer clause (a) which reads as under:
"a. that this Hon'ble Courtbe pleased to pass an order granting an extension of a period of 18 (eighteen) months for passing of the arbitral award in the Proceedings with effect from 14" June 2023."
4.
I make it clear that the extension shall be for a period of one year from the date on which a copy of this order is uploaded. 5.
Petition is accordingly disposed of.
