IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY

ORDINARY ORIGINAL CIVIL JURISDICTION INTERIM APPLICATION (L) NO.26134 OF 2023 IN CENTRAL EXCISE APPEAL NO.178 OF 2019 The Commissioner of Central Excise & Service Tax, Mumbai (LTU) ... Applicant

Versus

M/s. Reliance Industries Ltd.

... Respondents ______________________________________________________ Mr. Karan Adik, present in person.

______________________________________________________ CORAM : M.S. Sonak & Advait M. Sethna, JJ.

DATED : 08 September 2025 P.C.:- 1.

This is a praecipe for speaking to the minutes of our order dated 3 September 2025.

2.

Mr. Karan Adik referred to paragraph 8 of our order and tried to explain why he could not immediately give us the name of the officer who had given him instructions. He submitted that the observations in paragraph 8 might reflect upon him personally.

3.

According to us, there is nothing in paragraph 8 which reflects upon Mr. Adik personally. We have only

P4-OSIAL-26134-2023.DOCX recorded what actually transpired before the Court. Accordingly, this praecipe was quite unnecessary and based upon the same we cannot omit paragraph 8 as was suggested. 4.

In fact, we had dictated the order imposing the costs of Rs.50,000/- on the Union of India with directions to hold an inquiry, fix responsibility and recover such costs from the officer concerned. However, at the persuasion of Mr. Adik who stated that such an order might reflect him, we recalled that portion of the order.

5.

This praecipe was quite unnecessary and therefore, we dismiss the same.
