In all these writ petitions the challenge is to the imposition of interest by the Permanent Lok Adalat under the provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.

Learned advocate for the petitioner states that the principal amount has been deposited with the respondent No.2/original complainant. Therefore, to the extent the Permanent Lok Adalat grants interest @ 9% and 15% per month, said part of the Award of the Permanent Lok Adalat granting interest is stayed till 20 February 2025.

Stand over to 20 February 2025.
